Slow And Steady
Dad has had a few solid days of progress this week. He has been in physical therapy each day, and is breathing on his own again for the most part. He is also working with a speech therapist, and appears to have a lot he wants to say. He is practicing shaving and combing his hair again, but still needs a bit of practice. He really seems to enjoy all of the letters and cards that friends have been sending and we are all bouyed by the fact that we have had a few positive days in a row. Let's keep up the momentum!

I just found this blog and understand that Dennis is in the hospital in Redding now. We send our congratulations for such steady progress and best wishes and prayers for continued recovery. Dennis is such a wonderful person and has so many dedicated family members, friends, students, former co-workers who are thinking of him and sending strength and love. We all care about you, Dennis! ReplyDeleteSo happy to find this site, via Jan Hunt - we were talking about this earlier and she did the research and sent this link. Our entire family is sending positive thoughts your way. Both of my children had Dennis as a teacher at EHS and we all so appreciate the interest he has exhibited in them over the years, beyond just having them in the classroom! We always have enjoyed running into him and keeping in touch since his retirement.
