Dad's Obituary
Here's Dad's obituary from the Times-Standard. There are some lovely thoughts from people who knew him throughout his life. We are so glad to know he lives on in so many people's memories!

Anniversary
Dear Friends of Denny,
Today would have been my parents' 51st anniversary. They were great partners, and Dad thought Mom was amazing (he was right).
Today was also the day Dad's obituary came out in the Times-Standard. Please take a look and enjoy remembering Dad's legacy.

Saying Goodbye
Dear Friends of Denny,
It is with great sorrow that we write to let you know that Dad passed away on August 7. He was at home at the Cahill ranch and it was a beautifully sunny day. He had a great view of the birds in the birdfeeder and four of his six grandchildren playing in the yard. He was surrounded by his family and slipped away quietly in the early evening. It was exactly what he would have wanted, we think.
He ultimately died of an infection that had grown resistant to antibiotics. He wasn't in much pain, but wasn't himself.
We are filled with such sadness and we are sure that you who also knew how kind, generous, and friendly he was will also feel his absence in the world. He loved his community of Humboldt County so very much and we are so very grateful to all of the love and kindness you showed to him during these past four years since his stroke.
We will add more memories and pictures of Dad soon. While we are grieving his absence, we want to celebrate his incredible life. If you would like to share your memories, please do so in the comments or you can email them to me at cdcahill@gmail.com, and I will post them. He touched so many lives and we learn new stories about him everyday. They warm our hearts. It also helps to know that he lives on in the memories of so many of you.
We are in the process of planning his memorial and have tentatively scheduled it for Sept. 10th. Please watch this page for more details.
With much love and affection,
The Cahill Family

August 2016
Dear Friends of Denny -
Again, it has been awhile since our last posting (to say the least). Dad had a great last couple of months, but has now taken a tough turn. He's currently in St. Joe's with an infection that he's been fighting for awhile. We're hoping he will be home soon.
Here he is from a few weeks ago celebrating his sister, Cathy, and brother-in-law, Ron's, 50th wedding anniversary! Also pictured, Mom, his nephew, Mike, and friend, Magda and Mike, his caregiver.
